Your pregnancy is yours.

The short version

Cudly does not sell, share, license, or use your data for advertising. Your journal entries, recordings, and photos live on your device. If you turn on backup, they sync encrypted to your own iCloud or Google Drive — we never see the unencrypted content. We have no third-party advertising SDKs and no analytics that personally identify you.

What Cudly stores on your device

• Your journal entries (text, dates, mood tags, prompts you answered)
• Heartbeat recordings (audio files)
• Photos you choose to add to your timeline
• Voice memos you record
• App settings, due date, week tracker progress

All of the above is stored locally first. Without backup turned on, none of it leaves your device.

What Cudly stores on its servers

• Only if you opt in to backup: an encrypted copy of your data, accessible only with your device key. Cudly cannot decrypt it.
• Your email address — only if you provide one for account recovery.
• Anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (e.g., "0.4% of users opened the kick counter this week"). No personally identifying data.

What we DO NOT do

• We do not sell, license, or share your pregnancy data with any third party.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.
• We do not show you ads or share data with ad networks.
• We do not embed third-party trackers (Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics with PII, etc.).
• We do not infer demographic categories from your data and sell those.
• We do not retain your data after you delete your account.

Third-party services we use

To run the service, we rely on a small number of vendors. None of them receive your journal content (it's all encrypted client-side):

• Cloud storage: Apple iCloud or Google Drive — you choose. Your data lives in your own personal cloud, not ours.
• Crash reporting: Sentry, with PII scrubbing enabled. Used to fix bugs.
• Payments (Pro tier only): Stripe. They handle billing; we never see your card details.
• Email (account recovery only): Postmark.

Your rights

You can export, modify, or permanently delete your data at any time from the app's settings. We don't ask why. We don't try to win you back. Cudly is built to make leaving as easy as joining.

If you're in the EU, UK, or California

GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA all apply. You have the rights described above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email privacy@cudly.app for any data request.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll notify you in the app and via email. We will never quietly broaden what we collect or share.
